About Youth Leadership Advisory Council

The Youth Leadership Advisory Council is a collective of 25 young leaders from the south
and west sides of the City of Chicago who are passionate about urban agriculture, equitable access and addressing food insecurities in underserved communities. The mission is to give youth a voice and build a network of urban farms, gardens, leaders, community organizations in the city of Chicago to influence policy change promoting civic engagement and community investment in urban agriculture for the next generation of producers. Our group engages and excites young people in agricultural topics and career opportunities. The Youth Advisory Committee will assist in identifying many different factors that impact inner-city agriculture with follow-up meetings and strategic planning sessions to get some resolution to local issues.

What to Expect

Expect hands-on workshops, expert mentorship, and a vibrant community dedicated to sustainable practices and creative solutions that drive positive change in urban environments.

We empower participants with essential skills in sustainability, critical thinking, and community engagement. By fostering creativity and collaboration, we prepare them to tackle urban challenges and drive impactful change.
